A Wild Ride called HITS!

As a graphic designer for Hits! the Musical, I had the exciting opportunity to be in charge of creating the poster for their show. The show is a high-energy musical that takes you on a tour of the ages including hit songs from various generations and the poster needed to reflect that energy and excitement, while still looking like a high-end show. The first step in creating the poster was to brainstorm ideas and concepts that would capture the essence of the show. I spent a lot of time looking through the assets I was given and looking into other successful musicals' art.
Once I had some ideas, I started sketching out rough concepts and designs. I wanted the poster to be bold and eye-catching, while staying in the brand, but also add some flavor to it. I also wanted to incorporate elements of the show, like the characters and the music, in a way that would entice potential audience members.

After refining my sketches and getting feedback from the team, I moved on to creating the digital version of the poster. I used a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator to bring my design to life, experimenting with different colors, fonts, and textures until I landed on a final version that everyone was happy with.
Seeing the finished poster hanging in theaters and on billboards around the nation, plus featured in FOX 5 was incredibly satisfying. It was exciting to know that my design was helping to promote the show and attract audiences, and it was a great feeling to see all of my hard work pay off.

Overall, being in charge of creating the poster for Hits! the Musical was an incredible experience. It allowed me to showcase my skills as a graphic designer and collaborate with a talented team to create something truly special. These kids are something else. Never did I imagine being part of something like this. I also got a chance to take some cool shots of the kids, while they performed last weekend at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Take a look and enjoy.
